Across the Himalayas: Part II

LINK TO PART I
It was an awesome journey till now and we were pretty content with how things went. Little did we know that, more than half of the excitement needed to be in store for the coming days.

Third Day: Puh to Nako to Jeori (Night Stay)
Snow & Trek at Nako Village, landslide on the way back to Shimla
We were quick to rise up and got ready within 8 am. Initially we had planned to visit Nako and head back to Shimla or Rekong Peo. But, the hills had something else planned for us. It was a known route from Pooh to Khab, but instead of the uphill road you need to take for Khab, for Nako, one needs to stay on NH22/NH5. Just a km ahead, you get the Sangam of Spiti and Sutlej Rivers. It was another unique valley spot where the valley just divides into two. The Spiti meets the Sutlej here. The colors of the water are different in the two rivers. While Spiti comes with greenish water, the Sutlej engulfs its color with its brownish tinge.

Across the Himalayas: Part I

India never ceases to amaze you. With our diverse landscapes, we have it all. Be it a serene beach (Goa/Mandarmani), an amazing Island (A&N/Lakshadweep), a dry desert (Thar) or the highest mountains, we have it all. I have always loved travelling and spicing up an IT guy's life is the most important treat, one which I like to give myself frequently. So, this time I experienced a landscape that comes under the Genre: Travel and Adventure.

The destination initially chosen was: Kinnaur, Himachal Pradesh

The route actually taken was: Delhi - Shimla (night stay) - Narkanda - Rampur - Rekong Peo(night stay) - Pooh - Khab - Pooh(night stay) - Nako - Jeori (night stay) - Narkanda - Delhi

Dates: 10th April, 2015 (evening) - 15th April, 2015 (early morning)

Half-way to Nimrana with an asshole

My baby... 200NS

My running in was almost complete. With 700+ on the Odo, I decided to give my baby a highway jerk to just let it get acquainted with what it would do for the rest of its life. I was there at my friends house on Friday night and we planned to get up early and cover a trip from Delhi to Nimrana Fort and back and if time permitted us we would even visit Jaipur and stay the night there.

The Irish House

It was just a leisurely evening with a group of College Friends at Vimannagar, Pune. The meeting point was Phoenix Mall. Nothing is ever decided when these College pals are around. Fooling around and doing crazy things were common. So, this time 5 of us were passing by The Irish House on 2nd floor of the Phoenix mall.
Shameless enough to say, most of the good friends I find around love to booze and keep on boozing. The Irish House was not one of the common places we would hang around. It was not one of the value for money options. BUT, this time the board said "Buy something and get the same free". That was awesome and the evening was going to be a great night.

Enjoying Pune Street foods

The Appa Vadawale and the Set Dosa stall in Chandannagore, Vimannagar near Tata Tea gardens.
What I got was the best Vada Pav I had in Maharashtra and the best Set Dosas expected from a streetside stall.
They are hygenic and keep their stuffs clean and clear which made eating more enjoyable.
Price: 25 for Set Dosa and 7 for a Vada Pav;
Taste: Super fine; Worth mentioning is the texture of the set dosas.

Pune - Love, Romance and the City

"Hahaha.... dekh saale wo bande kaise ek pair bahar latkake i-card gaale mein.. tumtum pe jaa rahen hain!!!", a group of guys returning from the Mysore-heavens laughed out. To them, life projected the lush greenery of Mysore and a life of comfort. They were siblings to the harsh IT world. They had forgotten the traffic, dust and sweat for the past 6 months of their life and assumed the next 6 months to be a continuation for the rest.

The fortune is that the group of guys in the story came to a place called PUNE!!! What do you want in it... LOVE!!! ROMANCE!!! VADA PAV!!! MASTI !!! or just a SERENE LIFE....

Getting settled down, and making friends does take some time. As they started their life in Pune, 'paus'(rain) continued to cool them down from 'away-from-home' feelings and 'new-place' tensions. It was great... enjoying the weather and feeling the sunshine.

now.. just that i eagerly want to be back to LIFE... i am unable to... becoz i miss somethig and i am in want of somethig new...

well life is good as always,. just that.. i want that friend to be good.. better... n running like me... if possible with me....

Dajipur: The only Wildlife Sanctuary on 2 Wheels

Exploring and visiting new places has always been fun for most of us. But, when its on 2 wheels, it feels amazing because you are mingled in your surrounding. You feel the wind of the journey and the 360 x 3D uninterrupted view is much more awesome than on 4 wheels. You feel the power between your legs and the passion to conquer the whole world. Well, thoughts aside. Let's go to the Travelogue.

It was a rented Pulsar 150 (2004 version) with round headlights. We had rented it for a month in Pune and a long ride was definite in those 30 days.

Condensation

TRRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIINNNNNNGGGGGG!!!!!!!!! (a very long one)
No, it was not a Telephone. Those days telephones were rare, even those round dial ones. That was the round alarm clock ringing on a Sunday, at 7 am. As usual, the little boy was pulled out of the bed and refreshed up within 7:30 am ending with a glass of milk, which he hated the most.

The sole reason behind such a monstrous act of waking up a little one on a Sunday early morning was: Studies!!! Sunday is a day for relaxation and enjoyment for all around the world and the father in our story here, took the bright oppurtunity to turn it into a darker one: Make the little one study!!!

The lessons started with Science and the subject was "Condensation". The kiddo sat beside his father and the page turned. It was a picture of a glass of ice: one normal, and the other one sweating for no reason. A glass of ice sweating??? Questions puzzled the little ones mind. "Ice is cold!!! Its meant to keep things cold!!! I drink cold water and get scolded because its cold!!! Sweat???" Kiddo's mind kept thinking.
